period of 1810 to 1860, after which the property was bought by Mr. Cole
a non-conformist to accommodate various religious gatherings. In 1918 it
became a guest house run by Mrs. Glass where the Choral Society met from
1956-61 before being purchased in 1965 by King & Barnes as a PH (licence
transferred from the Brewery Arms) |

cottages sited in wooded isolation to avoid the excise regualtions which
controlled ealry 17th Century weaving. |
